Pallet Racking: Customer Success Stories
Who you buy from is almost as important as what you buy. Think about your favorite restaurant, why do you go there? Sure, the food has a lot to do with it, but I bet the people do too.

Even if you don’t have a favorite local hangout, you’ve probably experienced what happens when you spend money with a business that doesn’t care about you. Cell phone companies, for example. You pay them hundreds of dollars every year, but if you have a problem with your phone, good luck getting someone to help you (unless of course you want to buy a new phone).

Why do I bring this up? Because there are companies out there who will sell you whatever pallet racking they have in their warehouse, even if it’s a bad fit for your operation or low-quality used rack. They just want you to buy something and go away. That’s not how it’s supposed to work!

You deserve personalized attention and respect from your vendors. Below are a few  real-life examples of how we help local businesses in the Bay Area, Fresno, Sacramento and Northern California increase storage space, save money and get more done.

Sharing the Burden: Warehouse Racking Success Stories

At Total Industries, we’re committed to our customers’ success. That’s not just something we say; it’s something we DO. Helping local businesses find solutions to their problems, that’s what gets us out of bed every morning. Here are a few recent examples of how we do things:

Warehouse Expansion – How Do You Optimize a Blank Slate?

A business owner contacted us after acquiring an additional warehouse space. He needed a pallet racking system for their new building, something tailored to the space and how they run their business .

Moving into a new building or enlarging an existing space is more challenging than most people realize. How do you optimize a blank slate? Maybe you use standard selective racking now, but would double deep be better? Or maybe now’s the time to switch to flow racking? Choosing between the many different types of pallet racking can be very time-consuming.

After asking some key questions, we gave the customer three different options. We included the customer’s original idea, plus two additional configurations. Each plan included the number of pallet positions each option would yield. The customer was thoroughly impressed and appreciated seeing their original idea side-by-side with other designs.

After choosing a final layout, we completed the project (on time, of course), and the customer was very complimentary about the professionalism of our team. The customer is extremely happy with their new warehouse racking system and even called us back to add a couple of sections.

That’s right, this customer is already outgrowing their new building and needed help filling in a few nooks and crannies! To us, that’s the biggest compliment of all. We’re honored to have played a part in their success and to be their vendor of choice for warehouse racking.

Moving Into a New Warehouse? Let Us Make Your Life Easier

Outgrowing your current storage space is a good news/bad news situation. The good news is: your business is growing. The bad news is, of course, moving can be a huge hassle.

Many businesses delay moving for far too long. They try to make it work while their warehouse becomes increasingly disorganized. Fulfillment times and errors increase until things reach a tipping point.

We recently met with a customer who was overwhelmed by the logistics of moving from his old space into a new one while trying to maintain operations. The customer had, in his own words, “a mess of a warehouse.” He had a new space, but didn’t have time to run the business and prepare for a move.

I’m happy to report: we were able to turn things around for this business owner. He came to us for a quote on pallet shelving and left with a huge weight off his shoulders. Here’s what happened:

  • He got a racking system for his new warehouse.
  • Our team installed it.
  • With the new racking set up and ready to go, the customer transitioned from one space to another with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • We bought the customer’s old warehouse racking and removed it from their previous space.

We helped this customer knock out three big things on his to-do list: buy new pallet racking, find someone to buy their used racking and tear it down — all in one meeting. And yes, this was the fastest, cheapest, and most convenient way for the customer to move from one warehouse space to another. We pay top dollar for used pallet racking and save you the hassle of coordinating with multiple vendors.
